As Ovid be an outcast quite abjured:
Balk logic with acquaintance that you have
And practise rhetoric in your common talk;
Music and poesy use to quicken you;
The mathematics and the metaphysics,
Fall to them as you find your stomach serves you;
No profit grows where is no pleasure ta’en:
In brief, sir, study what you most affect.

Shakespeare - The Taming of the Shrew

Wondering who Ovid is?

Spoilt for choice = I can’t focus

I’m trying to read The taming of the Shrew. I want to read it. I have the full text saved to my laptop as well as a Shakespeare glossary to help me decipher it and I’m all set, ready to enjoy the story. Bring on the womanizing.

Alas! cotton! Alas! Cotton!

So heres my problem; I load up the play in one tab, the glossary in the next, and finally facebook in the third, just you know, to have a quick look before I start reading. Then I chat for half an hour, then I blog to tumblr about how I never end up reading any more. Then I probably just browse tumblr for another half hour.

Wah.

Okay I’ve gotten this socialising out of my system, time to try reading again. Wish me luck.

One last thing, did you know that the 1999 teen comedy Ten Things I Hate About You(Heath Ledger, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Julia Stiles) was a loose adaptation of The Taming of the Shrew? Semi-interesting fact POW!
